Prior to being a SU! Demo I was very 'wide' with my crafting range and although I totally love the new catatlogue, I really wanted to push myself to 'get back' to some of my 'messier' styles of making, which included MIXED MEDIA.
The challenge I set myself was to DO 'mixed media' using ONLY Stampin' Up! product. So, I paid a visit to my old crafting pal Mike Deakin (formerly of Kraftyhands) now, of 'Mike Deakin Art'... in my mind the UK's Tim Holtz (but a wee bit better!)

The reason for the visit, I felt i'd lost my 'mixed media' mojo..... little did I know!
At the end of the day I'd created not 1 but 2 fabulous pieces for my home (the 2nd i'll feature in full later, as it still needs a little tweaking)
And here it is .... my 'practise' piece!....
... and I LOVE IT!
AND it's ALL, TOTALLY, ENTIRELY & UTTERLY 'Stampin' Up'!

I Triple layered the 'Sunshine' and sponged the top with Whisper White craft ink.
The flower is 3 layers of the punch, spritzed with water & scrunched & shaped.
The foliage inked with Soft Suede and covered with Fine Tip Glue Pen to make glossy.
The burlap was frayed with my scissors at each end for a more rustic feel.
Finally got to grips with 'tearing' paper again! the Grapefruit Grove was embossed with the planks folder - the folder was wiped with Whisper White ink to create a 'washed' effect.
I will pop back soon with the close up pictures of the 2nd Frame - have to dash now as off to see Lionel Ritchie & Anastasia LIVE in concert - excited MUCH!!!!
