Busy Preparing for 1st Workshop...

Having invested in more SU goodies I have been busy playing, to create some projects for us to make during our 1st 'Stampin' Up!' Workshop Day.
The date has ben set for...

Saturday 16th March

giving us all time to still indulge in the 'Sale-A-Bration' before it ends on 22nd March!

Here is a sneak peek at a 'few' of the cards that will feature (although not fully embellished - yet)
I am intending for us to complete 6 projects on the day, learning some tricks, tips and techniques along the way!
I will also put on lunch, a raffle and maybe throw in a few 'giveaways' too!!
The 'LINK" to book your place will go live in the next couple of days - and I'll e-mail out to everyone once it's ready.

My 1st Swaps!... "DINKY DAISY" Cards

I've been invited to my first 'team meeting' this Sunday and I've opted to take part in the 'Swap'.
14 of us are taking part and the idea is that I make 14 of the same card and 'swap' with each of the of 14 SU demonstrators - therefore coming home with 14 DIFFERENT cards/projects!

As I've only my demonstrator order and a few minimal bits to play with I felt a little limited, but it challenged me, and here's the end result....

PRODUCTS USED:

CARD : Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Very Vanilla (Very Vanilla no.106549)
INK : colours as above (can be purchased as a combo pack 'in colour 2011-2013' no.124378)
STAMPS : Secret Garden (no. 129144)
PUNCH : Decorative Label (no. 120907)
EMBOSSING FOLDER : Needlepoint Border (no.129383)
EXTRAS : Crystal Effects (no.101055) SNAIL adhesive (no. 104332) Dimensionals (no. 104430) Dazzlin' Diamonds Glitter (no. 102023)

TOOLS : Trimmer, Big Shot, Acrylic Block, Scissors, re-positionable/sticky note, Sponge Dauber

FULL INSTRUCTIONS :       For this tutorial I've just used the Calypso Coral colour option.

Step 1 : Cut card stock as follows ...

Step 2 : Emboss Calypso Coral with cross stitch pattern.

Step 3. Gently ink edges of Very Vanilla card with Lucky Limeade ink. Stamp the daisy in Calypso Coral onto the top left corner of the punched Very Vanilla Label. Stamp daisy again onto re-positionable/sticky note and cut out ( if you purchased the Secret Garden framelits with the stamps as a 'bundle deal', you can cut it out with the Big Shot! no.131099)

Step 4. Cover the original daisy with the 'mask' created by the sticky note and now stamp the leaf/stem with Lucky Limeade - I used the stamp upside down so the stalk went to the centre of the flower.

Step 5. Adhere the inked Very Vanilla panel to the front of the Calypso Coral card with SNAIL. Cut the Lucky Limeade Decorative punched piece in half horizontally, then snip off the side notches, as shown. Use SNAIL to adhere to back of stamped label.

Step 6. Adhere Daisy Stamped panel onto Very Vanila mat on the card, using Dimensionals. Apply a healthy blob of Crystal Effects to flower centre, and while wet sprinkle Dazzlin' Diamonds over the top. Once dry shake off excess. You may notice that the Crystal Effects sinks in the middle once dry, this is due to the 'weight of the glitter' but I think it just adds to the end result!

< Wet >                                               < Dry >

Step 7. Admire your creation!

As I foolishly forgot to order sentiment stamps within my starter kit (an error already amended - and on their way!) I was unable to add a greeting to these little cards - however....
A perfect set would be 'Teeny Tiny Sentiments' (2012-13 catalogue p.133, no. 120024) these small, but perfectly formed sentiments would sit beautifully if stamped vertically, up the right side in between the embossed cross stitch and card edge!

Hope you enjoy

Thanks for my goodies Sara! ...

I'm a bit late saying 'thanks' as I received these on Tuesday - but it's been a manic week!...
BUT... Thank you Sara! My lovely parcel was a complete surprise, the 'welcome' card is really sweet and I'm itching to play with my Dazzle pen and Dazzling Details!!

Sara also gave me a great start to my 'Swap Collection' by sending me some lovely pieces that she'd collected during her time at last years SU convention in Germany!
